we had a prayer meeting and left Lahore on 24th November 2008 night. We loaded our whole food stuff and clothes which we bought for earthquake effected area. We were a team of 9 persons including one of our Muslim neighbors who shared us in lot of food material. Bus driver and his helper who were Muslim but they helped us a lot in distributing food and cloths material. We reached Dera Ghazi Khan and had our breakfast on the way. We had 24 hours long journey more than 1500 km one side. Finally we reached our destination after another stop for food on the way.
I thank Woodmont Hills mission Committee for their generous share of love for the earthquake affected area in Baluchistan, Pakistan. We were already facing short of funds problem but God helped us in a wonderful way. We were not able to pay hotels for three day and nights for such a big party. So we made contact to some of our kinsmen in Quetta city and they promised to provide us residence in guest house of Mission Hospital. They also provided breakfast every morning. Some other relatives arranged dinners for three nights. So we praise God for His special arrangements for our food and stay. They were so happy that we have come from so far away to share the human love with those who are really in trouble and need help.
So next morning we started our campaign work by reaching to those where none of the relief parties have reached, providing them food (wheat flour, rice, sugar, cooking oil, tea leave packets, milk, rusks, biscuits, grains) blankets, jackets, jerseys, quilts, caps and mufflers. They were so thankful to us and saying that the angels of God have come down to earth for their safety.
Brethren, this province is backward and not so much developed only cities are well developed more people live in mud made houses and are from poor category. But they were living on the top of the hills. While their houses collapsed, they had to come down to valley and live in tents provided by some relief helpers and are forced to live under open sky and some families had to live without food for many days. They lost their loved ones. We met some children who lost their parents, home and every thing, some parents who lost their children some men who lost their brothers and sisters.
We met some sick persons who fell sick because of loosing their home and have to live in tents and caught in different diseases. At some places there is no electricity. They burn wood or dry bushes to keep themselves warm in minus temperature. In some places dead bodies are still to be taken out. There are so many such horrible instances that took place that human person starts weeping when one hears that instance.
Our party workers took a very active part in serving and distributing the material and expressing sympathy to the effected men. We are thankful to God that none of us got sick during all our four & half day trip and all of us came back home safe, while we traveled through very lonely and dangerous places. It is our strong faith that God is powerful to keep safe His children who obey His commands in practical service to mankind.
