First convention held on Nov 4-6 2005. The topic of that convention was MATTHEW 3:2 “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near.” The convention held in Shanti Nagar for spiritual fellowship for three days Friday to Sunday. Its Subject was call for repentance to join Heavenly Kingdom. These were open meetings for all to join us. All churches of Shanti Nagar were invited. This is all because of Love that we have in Jesus.
A team of ten workers was with me from Lahore congregation to help leading songs, prayers and preaching work. We hired P.A sound system for three days. Due to huge gathering we had to fix tent out side the church building and it was also hired for three days. We had gathering of 450 – 500 each meeting (men, women, and children) and Word of God was preached by all the team workers alternately. Shanti Nagar brethren welcomed us with joy and put flower garlands round our necks. Boys and girls choir was very strong and led wonderful songs in the meetings.
That whole convention was very successful, twenty-eight persons repented, baptized and were added to the church, seventeen persons were restored. Every night food was served to all the participants. These convention meetings opened a door for more people to come and learn about Jesus and church of Christ. They will become part of the church in future. The convention was appreciated very much by all the residents of Shanti Nagar and other surrounding villages. They requested us to hold this kind of gathering again. We wish, and recommend that such conventions are very fruitful to preach Gospel openly.
