Greetings in Jesus name.

 Last week we packed every thing and all stuff in bags after spending much time on packing and we helped each other to finalize everything. One of our Muslim friends Name Mr. Asghar donated $1500 dollars for the relief stuff so we invited him to be with while we are making distribution. He happily accepted the offer and joined with our team. So we prayed and started our journey by hiring coaster bus because we had enough ration and food, mineral water and other needy items. We reached affected areas after travelling 10 hours drive and first of all we were offered breakfast by one of our relative there in Multan city. It was good for us as we could not eat anything openly because of Muslims fasting month of ramzan. We reached the affected areas where almost every thing has wiped off. People are hungry and helpless and waiting for food and other necessary needs. Cities where we visited are mostly areas of Punjab province such as upper Punjab cities (Khushab, Shahpur, Mianwali) and lower Punjab cities (Muzafergargh, Mehmood kot, Sanawan and Qasuba Gujrat).

 We started distributing the stuff which was in three bags for one family. We had taken with us 450 sets. We felt pity for the affected people. Most of them were sick because of virus in that area. Many were thankful for our efforts to share with them in their difficult time. Some people were sad because they had lost their loved ones, homes, cattle’s, furniture and crops and all they had. We took some pictures of the destruction and distribution and the situation around. We did this distribution work for two days then we returned. While coming back we made stop at Chak Shanti Nagar and Chak 33 where heavy rains have brought lot of damage to their homes which collapsed and loss of their crops. So there we distributed ration and food stuff to 40 families at Shantinagar and 20 families at Chak 33 and then we came back home.

 We have already in move to do flood relief work as much we could in different cities of Punjab province although we have very little sources to perform better but we served them with 27 ration items. We are doing all things because of prayers and God is helping us and our aim is to reach the unreached and we personally reach and meet the people and share the love. Now we plan to reach to those who have not been reached yet in other areas of Sindh and Sarhad provinces. They are still in much difficult position.

 Dear Brothers and sisters, we decided to reach again to this needed human beings with ration & food and this time we plan to take medical team with us for the treatment of sick. Also this time we need to help some financially to resettle them. We need your prayers and helping hand if possible. The Government is also taking many of them to camps and providing them food and shelter but after some time they need to go back to their homes which are already finished. They need to build their houses and start new with their crops. Their lives depend more on irrigation work. We plan to help many to resettle them if possible. We need much courage strength and financial support to share their difficulties and problems. They need to be resettled again. We need to arrange tents, beds, complete bedding, blankets and crockery. We can not provide all things but we can share some thing with them. Main thing we need is prayer, please keep us in your prayers and also people in Pakistan especially in flooded areas. We have our medical team and we plan to organize medical camp in each city. The total estimated amount is at least $ 35,500 dollars to resettled 200 families means $ 140 dollars per family including medical camps and for that we are work hard to arrange funds and this is our appeal to share as much you can. Although this whole relief work is very difficult but we have strong faith in Jesus and He always protect us and provide every thing we need. We are working for Him honestly and we know that God will reward us in heaven for this kind of act.

The heavy down pour which continued for 36 hours with over 230 millimeter of rain descending on many parts has affected hundreds of thousands and according to the information minister of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at least 410 people have been reported died in that province alone.

The devastation in the flood affected areas has been so acute with villages surrounded by churning waters. The homes and crops are total washed away. The roads and bridges have been washed away by the flood water. Further heavy rain is expected before this monsoon season blows itself out. According to the reports this has been the heaviest spell of rain in 50 years in the province; flooding of the kind seen now has not been experienced since 1929 – beyond the living memory of most of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab and Kashmir.

In such conditions there is apparently enormous hopelessness. People have lost their livestock and with no means of livelihood. There has been rain havoc too in these areas though its scale is still far from clear. The floods have even disrupted the process once again and affected those who had been attempting to resume their farming and business activities.

These people will need financial assistance to ensure that they can gradually continue their work. Those who have lost houses lack the capacity to rebuild them. They need assistance to overcome the latest disaster. There is a possibility that a worst may lie ahead. As all rivers of the country are reportedly flowing at high level and there is a danger of the bursting of the river banks.
Church of Christ Ministries of Pakistan is receiving numerous calls through local Peachers and local contacts for assistance of the flood affected people. Church of Christ Ministries does not select people or areas, but people ask for help and we request our friends for financial assistance so that we could reach them at the time of distress and destruction.

Our local contact from Peshawar told that villages surrounding to Kohat, Mardan, Nowshera, Swat, Upper and Lower Dir, Shangla and Charsaadda are the most worst affected areas where thousands of people are marooned. The villagers needed urgent evacuation, food and water supplies. As per information thousands of people including women and children are taking shelter on rooftops in Nowshera and suburbs of Peshwar.

The United Nation has estimated that some 1 million people were affected from these recent floods. The report also said that the province has faced the worst natural calamity of its history and he added that the situation would turn into a humanitarian disaster if the International Community did not extended immediate help.

The flood warning center in Peshawar said that the water level in all rivers, including river Swat and Kabul are receding and the situation may improve but it all depend on the monsoon rains. They also warned that the local dams are under severe strain and the moving flood water is fuelling up and the ongoing rains will still affect communities of North and South of Punjab and Sindh.

As per information received by our local contact on the phone he told that there is more death rate than what is told and many are missing. Presently there is an urgent need of food, water, cloths, shelter etc, for the affected people.

We therefore request please help us in our relief efforts so that we can reach those people who have been really affected and neglected or cannot be reached especially our Christian brothers and sisters in Christ, who are mostly deprived of many things. Your kind and generous attention towards this cause will be highly appreciated.

We also request you to pray for the families who have lost their loved ones during these recent floods. Pray for the families who are homeless and shelter-less that God may provide us the ability in giving them food to eat, cloths to wear and roof for shelter.

Residents of the colony say they heard gunshots on Saturday morning, but insist that local residents of Gojra were not armed and that guns only entered the picture when the masked men arrived at the colony on Saturday evening. At that time, other members of Hameed’s family were burnt alive as their house was set on fire along with 59 other houses in the colony.

In recent days, the general public and media in Pakistan have responded with great vigor to the call to support displaced residents of the Malakand Division.  For example, many in Mardan have allowed Swatis to reside in their second or third homes.  Other Swatis have found refuge in the homes of extended family.  There are acts of great generosity — reflecting the values of Pashtun and, more generally, Pakistani, culture — being made by average Pakistanis.

The major news channels have had live coverage from the IDP camps, bringing images of the victims of war to homes across Pakistan.  Pakistan’s most popular news channel, GEO News, had a telethon on Sunday night to fundraise for Swat relief.

But much more must be done.  Pakistan’s civil society needs to utilize the same level of sustained commitment it did with the earthquakes in Balochistan and Kashmir and the lawyers movement.  Hundreds of thousands have made their way to relief camps, where the provisions are inadequate.  The void must be filled Pakistani citizens — especially those who live comfortably in air conditioned homes with high ceilings and flat-panel televisions
